So about 2 or 3 times a month we go to Bistro St. Marks for dinner. We sometimes sit at the bar so we can chat with Paula or Nicolas who bartend. Last night we sat by the door and enjoyed the nice cool night.
They have a new chef who has mixed things up on the menu a bit which is great since we were getting tired of ordering the same dishes.
Last night we had butternut squash soup and endive, walnut, apple and gorgonzola salad for starters. Good with generous portions. I tried the duck breast with wild rice and hoisin sauce which is a great new addition. My hubby and his friend had the steak frites which is always a hit. Washed it down with an organic red from Cotes du Rhone for 32 USD. For dessert we had house made raspberry sorbet and tart tatin with vanilla ice cream. Everything was a yummy with good sized portions. All in we got out for 160 USD including drinks (cocktails, wine for us and beer for our friend)
Other new dishes on the menu were a salmon steak with artichoke risotto and saffron reduction (had this last week and it was fabulous - better as a starter though as it is quite rich), a new chocolate cake on the tasting menu, a cornish hen with veggies and a salmon terrine with spinach.
Place was packed and we had great service. Go check out the new chef and menu changes.
