Bistro Cassis in Chelsea -- not bad

So I went to Bistro Cassis in Kloe's old space on 14th St btw 7th & 8th. Been open a month. The food didn't blow me away, but it was pretty good. I had trout stuffed with shrimp mousse. Lots of flavors in there. My wife had monkfish that was also pretty good. Excellent frites, a good sign. Entrees were $17-$22.

They do a nice job with the space, though the room downstairs is pretty grungy. Decent scene. For some reason there were three tables of stylish Indians/South Asians in there on a Friday night. Worth a stop if you're in that neighborhood and you like bistros, but Bistro Cassis doesn't strike me as a destination. I'd rather go to Markt, the tasty Belgian brasserie on 14th St. and 9th Ave.
