bison - thanks JudiAU

I had an odd run-in with JudiAU and her husband at the Hollywood Farmer's Market. Recognized her from a Chow Event. She went for the Euro-kiss thing, and, you know, I'm just an undereducated immigrant's kid from the wrong side of the San Jose tracks, I don't know Euro-kisses from chopped liver, or however the expression goes. And, moreover, I was hungover, had only been awake for about 20 minutes, and was being led by hand by my girlfriend through the market on a quest for asparagus and new potatoes.

Anyway, she went for the Eurokiss, and I tried to gamely follow suit, but she was wearing this huge HAT, this gigantic red thing with big swoopy sides, that sort of deflected my half-hearted Eurokiss, and I sort of was led sideways and downwards and I was confused and...

Well, I kissed her armpit.

So, the down-side of this story is that I spent the next hour looking at veggies with the taste of deoderant on my mouth. But, on the plus side, seeing Judi reminded me of her postings about grass-fed bison, which I purchased and stewed.

Bison stew (I stewed it with onions, carrots, and a mix of marzen and heifeweizen) is lovely, lovely, lovely. A charmingly round, sweet flavor.
