Today, business took me to this unfamiliar area of town - Hwy27 & Albion.
Noticing a long stretch of Albion Road was lined with Indian and/or Pakistani eateries, I ad-randomly picked 'Biryani Plus' on 1770 Albion, Unit 43 for some curries to take out and bring back to Richmond Hill.
I ordered a ' Qeema Mutter ' - Curry minced beef with peas.
' Nihari ' - Slow cooked curry based stew with beef and a ' Quarter Tandoori Chicken
Apart from the Qeema Mutter, which was nicely spiced and quite flavourful. The other two dishes were just plain 'bland' and bad!! Yes!! You heard me - A bland tasting Tandoori chicken, my first! The sauce of the Nihari was equally tasteless and un-appealing.
Chef! There's a spice market called Singh Food just across the road, if you are out of spices!! The gravy and chicken from KFC just down the road should taste better!
However, what really upsets me was the portion and quantity of the 'Nihari' dish. At $5.99, they gave me 'TWO' pieces of meat, each the size less than a piece of Chicken McNugget!!
Somehow, the staff must have had X-Ray vision, saw the 'far away Richmond Hill address' on my driver's license and reckoned they could screw me!!! Sigh!!
