My boyfriend and I are escaping New Orleans during the first weekend of Jazz Fest to spend the weekend at Beau Rivage. I've been doing a little Chowhound research to try and figure out if we should venture outside of the casino for meals and the most recent information I can find is about 6 months old.
We'll eat breakfast in New Orleans (Cafe Adelaide if it matters) with my family on Saturday morning and then head out to Biloxi. We'll only be there until Monday morning - and I plan to attempt Ship Island on Sunday so I'm thinking two dinners??? From my reading I've got it narrowed down to Steve's Marina, Half Shell Oyster House or Blow Fly Inn, any others that should be more highly considered? I also saw a few recommendations for BR Prime (the steakhouse) at the casino...anything else worth considering at Beau Rivage? The menu for Memphis Q seems potentially promising - any experiences? I thought about The Shed, but I'm a little hesitant because we are African American and one of my students recently had a bad experience with discrimination at a nearby establishment (so I guess it would be helpful to know if we might be less than welcomed at one of the others I'm considering too.)
It seems that this board is pretty quiet, so I'm hoping I get some responses...google searching isn't turning up anything recent either!
