My husband wants to go to Big Sur for his birthday on Saturday and as a nod to my chowhoundliness, he's allowing me to pick the restaurant for Saturday night in Cambria on our way back home.
We have had some wonderful dinners in Cambria, including Robin's and (a recent favorite) Chenoa. I have been interested in trying the Black Cat or Sow's Ear, as well as lunch at Wild Ginger (though my husband is not an Asian-food guy, so maybe not that one on this trip).
We can't spend too much, as we just enjoyed a delightful meal last weekend at Buona Tavola in SLO. (I loved the tortellini with pumpkin, ricotta and sage in a mild cheese sauce -- rich but delicious. My husband's wild mushroom risotto was even better.)
Is there a place, other than Robin's, where we can get a good bottle of wine and some good food without breaking the bank completely? I understand, it's Cambria, but I'm hoping there's a place I haven't thought of.
