Birthday dinner and brunch, Wilmington/Brandywine area, Restaurant Week

cgh | Sep 4, 201509:08 AM     7

Hi Chowhounders,

I'll be in the Wilmington/Brandywine area for my birthday (Sept 19). I was happy to see that it is also Brandywine Restaurant week, so I want to consider those options along with others. Any recommendations? Atmosphere and service is important to us, and we eat anything.

I checked out the Domaine Hudson restaurant week menu and did not care for it. I am considering the Green Room, to show my 14 year old son an old-school fancy dining experience and great service. However, I have read mixed reviews (and they are not doing restaurant week). How about Gables at Chadds Ford?

Brunch recommendations would be welcome too.
