I'm looking for interesting, delicious cake for a party.

One of the cakes will be Zanze's cheesecake. For the other flavor, I'm looking for something less creamy.

I'd love something that feels fancy but probably old-fashioned (pretty?) than formal (so no squares from Craftsman + Wolves).

Cakes I've loved for past parties: coffee crunch from Sweet Spot, Princess cake from Schubert's. Was impressed by but didn't love the chocolate tower from Delessio. Tried the chocolate cake (too unrelentingly fudgy) and carrot (decent, not special) at Thorough.

Any ideas?

I'd be game with a caterer since we need a large amount, but not crazy wedding pricing. So $33 a cake is fine; $6 a portion isn't. Not interested in pies or cupcakes.

Thanks for the help.
