Billy's Deli - Torrance Branch.

I have been a long time fan of Billy's Deli in Glendale. I have tried the branch in Torrance and the pastrami sandwich just doesn't measure up.

I like the pastrami with some moisture in it so I order the Juicy Pastrami and Brent’s and Billy's original and they are quite good.

My first trip to Billy's in Torrance was a real downer. I ordered it Juicy and got a really fatty pastrami similar to the hat. It seemed to have been boiled. The bread slices were small and much thinner than a regular sandwich should have.

My second try I ordered the stock pastrami sandwich. The fat content was much better but it eas VERY salty. It reminded me of the Smart and Final Chubb pack, also too salty to eat.

So no more pastrami for me there.

Does anyone have a report on the rest of the deli choices. They have an extensive menu of good looking items. I'll not be back unless some Chowhound recommends something else on the menu.

This is my second try at a local branch of an established houndist eatery. First Scooby's and now Billy's Deli.

I guess good food just doesn’t travel well.
