Billings and Red Lodge

We were in the area for a wedding and had just a few food encounters to report.

In Billings we started with dinner at Jake's. Nice wine list, properly prepared food. Dinner came with an attractive loaf of bread that was tasteless. All in all a nice experience except for the bread.

Also in Billings we had dinner at Q Cuisine. Very stylish room, service was erratic - some dishes were removed from our table and some weren't. The menu claimed wild salmon - the reality was farmed Atlantic salmon.

In Red Lodge - dinner at the Pollard was better than expected. Food and service were fine, a good experience. Burgers outdoors at the Red Boxcar were very good and well worth the wait.

Whilst doing a drive around this beautiful state we had lunch at the Rosebud Cafe in Absarokee. An old-time cafe in a small town. Friendly and very reasonable. A small gem.
