For years (or was it years ago) I heard great things about Ruggles on Westheimer. I'd eaten at the Ruggles bistro in Rice Village a number of times and found only the desserts, tea, and ambience to be above average. The burgers were fair and the sandwiches just average.
Finally made it to Ruggles on Westheimer. It was a good meal, the food was good, but I couldn't figure out what was so great about it. Went for lunch. Bread was awful. A soft, mushy-crusted raisin bread. Other dishes were very good, but nothing sensational.
What are the good dishes to get there? Or is it pasts its prime, or over-rated?
