Our first trip to new orleans and jazz fest is in
the books and made all the more great by the generosity
of all the reviewers here of folks sharing thier knowledge.
stayed at three different hotels in the CBD during the
week, fun checking out one, rolling the luggage a half block to the next one.
great sunday dinner at galatoires (knew when to go
and what to wear and who to ask for, thanks!)
great breakfast at mothers monday.
monday dinner at upperline, great,off the charts!
tuesday lunch at commander's palace, 25 CENT MARTINI'S!
and the best salad my wife said she's ever had, great!
had to fit in a "touristy" spot so for tuesday dinner went with Delmonico's. if you're in the right mood, it can be a lotta fun, noisy and raucous, great!
wednseday we rented bikes and rode out to the lake and
had great lunch at acme oyster seafood house by the
marina. wednseday dinner a Bacco, very soothing after
pedaling all day and great!
thurday ate at jazzfest, the shrimp and eggplant parmesian had sauce that had us go back for seconds than later thirds, great! thursday night had to
take a break, room service, but as far as room service
goes even this was, yes, great!
friday's jazz fest cancellation presented us with a great chance to improvise and come up with a great suprise find of 1179 for lunch. crab bisque just what the doctored orderd on a rainy day, great!
friday dinner at mr b's, great! place was hopping fun
saturday stuffed creole bread and softshell crab po boys at the fest. no need for dinner after that, but
did partake one last time of cafe dumonde, great!
sunday moring early flight breakfast at the airport at
acme oyster, unreal how good, would never believe it was airport food in a million years, great!
