Bi-Rite Market

Stopped into Bi-Rite in the Mission last night to get some prepared take-home dishes to heat up. Yum! Their salmon cakes ($4.50 each) are terrific...substantial and not overwhelmingly salmony with minimal filler (finely chopped veggies, very little bread) and a tasty side of caper aioli. The spicy meatloaf (around $3.50 a slice) was also great and hearty; even better after I whipped up a little chili sauce w/horseradish on the side for it. Great comfort food!

I intend to go back this week. I eyed the mac & cheese and their lasagnes...anyone tried these? What else is worth trying?
