Beware the Ahi at AP Stumps

Lily Lee | Apr 1, 2002 06:12 PM

I was at AP Stumps for lunch last Friday and tried the Ahi entree, consisting of three medallions of Ahi wrapped in a piece of seaweed, then a piece of some sort of pastry, which is then fried like tempura. The ahi is left rare in the middle, but the outside is crispy. Sounds good, right? Well, the outside was delicious, but when I started chewing the inside - it was like chewing a bunch of rubber bands. The ahi had threads of sinew in them that were impossible to chew. I had to discreetly (I hope) spit my food out in my napkin. I don't think AP Stumps is all it's cracked up to be . . .
