The family and I went there last Saturday late afternoon after doing the Fells Point tourist thing like blowing too much money at Sound Garden. Actually, we were down there to get empanada dough discos at any of the numerous hispanic tiendas that had it - had to settle on Goya brand because the superior Blanca Flor plant in Argentina burned down. Anyway, the wife and I went through two orders of steamed mussels (with the caper/garlic butter sauce) and we all left contented. We go to Berthas's about every 18 months or so, and always get the same thing. The mussels were big, fat, fresh and scumptious. Never have I had them so delectable anywhere as I've had them there. They must have a special relationship with seafood dealers or something.
So, let's hear the feedback on Bertha's, negative or otherwise.
