Berkeley - Solano Cellars Sold to Vintage Berkeley

rworange | Aug 1, 200501:31 AM

The papers were signed completing the sale and from my understanding, the new owners are the same people who own Vintage Berkeley.

Just when I find a place I really love for wine and wine flight tasting, it gets sold. Raj still owns The Cellar in El Sobrante though.

BTW, this week's wine flight has an outstanding Riesling. It was described as having a pear/apple taste and it really did, in the best possible way. I don't even really like Rieslings either.

03 Theo Minges Riesling Kabinett Gleisweiler Holle, Pfalz, Germany ... $2 a taste, $19 a bottle.

I hope they keep the staff who have been very helpful and knowledgable. I'm heartbroken. I really liked my Lola's / Solano Cellars lunches. Not much info except that a wall is being torn down.
