Recently I picked up the $6.95 bento box lunch from Sushi-Yu, a relative newcomer to Vallejo. The owners are from Hong Kong and have worked in several Japanese restaurants around the Bay Area.
I chose the California roll to get an idea of their sushi-making skills and the tonkatsu to test their frying. The California roll was quite good with loosely packed carefully seasoned rice, REAL crab meat, and buttery avocado. The tonkatsu was not so great. Coated and fried nicely, but too thin, and therefore dried out. The miso soup was decent and the iceberg lettuce was too wet. Not a bad lunch for the price. I'd get it again, but choose a different selection.
