beef cut to sear over campfire?

What cut of beef would work best impaled on the end of a stick, held over a wood campfire, to be cooked rare or medium rare? I've done this with a ribeye before, but am wondering if it would work with skirt steak sort of threaded onto the sticks. It's seems so thin that it might be a perfect searing technique, but maybe I'm missing something?
