I have over the years become quite fond of the bean soup mixes made by a company called Bean Cuisine. They consisted of a bag of various beans & an envelope of herbs/spices. Depending on the specific mix, you needed to add a mirepoix, meat, broth, vegetables, etc., then cook for about 2 hours. The result was almost always a big pot of excellent soup. A website "Soups Online" recommends several replacements for Bean Cuisine including: Buckeye Beans, Cherchies, Frontier, Lysander's, Purely American and Wine Barrel Gourmet. Has anyone tried any of these products? If so, are any especially good...or, bad?
