First the good: The beer is very, very cold.
Next the rest: Not worth the cost of gas unless. You need gas. It's attached to a gas station, in front of a gravel trucking operation at North Rd. & US 23.
The ambiance is retro gas station diner. The service is high schoolers learning to get out from behind the McDonald's counter. The menu prices are reasonable until you get the food in your mouth. To get a diverse selection, I had the chicken, pulled pork and brisket sliders (3 oz meat on a bun) and the rib sampler - 3 bones.
Chicken was white meat with no discernable smoke flavor and nearly inedible from being too dry. A full dousing with the house made "Big&Bold" sauce got it down but didn't get it done.
The pulled pork was juicy but had no smoke presence and not really seasoned. The Big&Bold was called on again and I could have finished that with some determination.
The brisket... Now that was completely inedible even with sauce. I don't believe I have ever had brisket that dry. There was a pink ring that implied it had once seen smoke but in which era I do not know.
The ribs were "Memphis dry" on the menu and came out wet, truly falling off the bone St. Louis and not really bad if you like them super soft as if steamed/baked. At the KCBS judges school a good rib has some tooth. Gumming these would have worked but at least they were slightly smoky.
Overall the weather was a nice day for a drive in a convertible. The food was not worth crossing the road for.
