I will be in Kansas City for the day on Sunday, and would like to have BBQ for lunch. We will be coming from Topeka, and have to catch a plane at around 5. Our hope is to see a bit of the city (WWI museum? the arts district--whose name I can't remember? The Negro Leagues museum?), and eat BBQ. For the BBQ, we'd like a place that seems kind of authentic (i.e. not a restaurant that serves barbecue, as someone wrote in describing a restaurant on a Chowhound post I just read). Also, just to avoid stress, it would be good if it weren't on the opposite side of the city from the airport.
Ideas? It is this Sunday, 2/15.
