BBQ sauce

Years ago I made my rounds of some Texas Soulfood BBQ joints.
I had making the dry rub and the sauce down pat for my ribs.
Now, after some years of not having been there I don't feel I have the touch any more.
Can someone give me a refresher please on the makings of some kickin' sauce?
