Stopped at Bay Cities Deli in Santa Monica today, just for some of their caponata. I have a good recipe, but nothing close to theirs. The one they make is with the usual eggplant, olives, oil, celery, and tomato (tastes like paste to me), cooked till very soft, with pine nuts added at the end. But it contains more sugar than most. At $10 a pound, I'd like to make my own. Anyone out there have the recipe?
