A month ago I reread Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential and came back to this site with a mission to buy up some affordable badass commercial cookware. I knew I was looking at Paderno and John’s big Lacor thread introduced me to Chef Luxe. The Amazon Paderno thread opened me up to the idea of checking multiple regions of Amazon for the best prices on these lines as well as the Fissler serving pan I was looking for.
In that time I pieced together great deals on the Paderno 1100 1 1/2qt sauce pan, 1100 2 1/2qt sauce pot with loop handles, Chef luxe 4.7qt stock pot, luxe 4.5qt & 7qt rondeau, and 1100 20cm pasta and steamer inserts.
As much as I respect the Paderno 1100 Paella I tried out I knew I was more comfortable with the wider base of the Fissler model. In the US the serving pan is 162$ before tax and I needed two of them. I almost settled for the 11” frying pan due to the BB&B coupon bringing the pair down to 235.86 after coupon, tax, and 1 year coupon membership.
Today I lucked out on the UK website and finished my set for the time being. 2 very good condition amazon warehouse deals on the 11” serving pan roughly 60 pounds each. Taxes, priority shipping, and other fees still came out about 40$ cheaper than the BB&B pair.
This community is a valuable resource and made this month a lot easier on me while researching these models. Every piece has made my cooking process more enjoyable, and motivated me to start building new techniques. I’m gonna show some mercy to my wallet for a while but the holes in my full disk lineup will have to be rounded out at some point. I’m guessing that means pieces with quick response. Thanks for doing what you guys do.
