I'm a San Franciscan, and I've tried all the top restaurants in the Bay Area, as well as some in NY and LA, and I have to admit (and you know how snooty SFers are about food) that the best service I've ever had (and this wasn't a one time fluke, because it was consistent every time I went) was at Bastide. Absolutely phenomenal.
Alas, I hear that Alain Giraud has left - has anyone been there since his departure? Who's the new chef and how's his cooking? Has the service changed at all? (I'm hoping not!)
