I was wondering if Toronto foodies have discovered any Basque or French/Spanish Basque fusion restaurants. Specifically, I'm looking to find a place that tries their hand at making pinxos; one-bite compositions of tiny food placed on pieces of bread. I'd say it's in the same vein as what we call tapas over here in Canada.
I had the pleasure of living beside San Sebastian with some friends/residents of the city and visiting various pinxo bars there, as well as cider houses and restaurants in surrounding towns. Anyone who has also visited will know how much care and harmony of flavour is put into their food culture.
If there are no Basque inspired restaurants in the GTA yet, hopefully there will be soon.
