I just moved to SF two days ago. My friend/roommate took care of finding an appartment so, while I pushed him towards the Mission or other central food areas, he found a great deal on Nob Hill (on Washington near Jones) and decided to grab it.

I know there are plenty of high-end restaraunts in the area, but I'm more interested in the day-to-day staples. If I don't want to cook, where are the best spots for relatively inexpensive and quick meals in the area?

(From what it looks like, the best bet is to go to Chinatown to the tiny Chinese/Vietnamese spots, so if you know which are the best of those, that's great, but I'm also looking for other ideas as I start to explore the neighborhood).

Thank you and I'll keep track of all the places I try and post my notes in a few weeks.
