Hey Everyone. I am taking my Irish husband and our 15 year old for a weekend to New Orleans, and since we have so little time I really want to hit the "quintessential" places and foods. Ie. Po boys, gumbo, etc. I just found it is going to be Gay pride whilst we are there and was wondering if that was going to make the FQ unbearable for eating/drinking? I thought we would have one day in the French Quarter area, and one day doing Garden District and Magazine Street. We would love to hit as many places as we can, ie, share a po boy here, share a cup of gumbo there, just graze a lot, have drinks, and definitely prefer lower cost, as we have a reservation for commanders palace on Sunday at 1:30. Which day should we go to FQ and which should we do Garden district? I was worried that Gay pride was going to make it a zoo in FQ on Saturday with the parade? Would the parade be fun? We love drag, etc.
These are my vague Restaurant ideas-itineraries for both days with restaurant recommendations:

Cafe du monde
Johnny's po boys?

Acme Oyster House Or Felix's????

My second question is that we will have our 15 year old with us and I think he can go into some bars? But probably not others? I have some definite places where I want to have drinks that are NOT craft cocktail places-We live in Los Angeles and have tons of that here.
Here's my list for places we want to have a drink:
Would my 15 year old be allowed in any of these?
