Went to Barbounia last night and had a wonderful experience. I'm surprised there hasn't been much written on this board so far about it. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance was beautiful with high ceilings and incredibly comfortable chairs. The wine list was extensive with many different varieties of Greek wines. We decided to try one out and really enjoyed a light Greek sauvignon blanc. For food, I started with the charred octopus confit which came with fava beans. The octopus was tender, tasty, and fresh tasting. Next I had the crispy red snapper with lentils. Others' around the table had whole pampano fish with gigante beans, saganaki, and a veal dish that I forget the specifics of. I was too into my own dishes to remember the details of everyone elses! I highly recommend this place. You don't have to reach too deep into your wallet either.
