We are visiting Barbados for the first time over labor day weekend just for 5 days and would like to eat at delicious inexpensive local places with good food. All advice is welcome. Also, of the expensive restuarants-- which do you think is the best for the price? For Barbados old hands---if we get rain (a sad but true possibility given the look of storms this season) any suggestions for stuff to do? We are going primarily to snorkel but hurricanes could wash us out of that. What are the not-to-miss snorkel sites? Do we need to go out on a boat or can we find them from the shore? We do not plan to rent a car. Is that a mistake? We are staying on the west coast. Plese feel free to give lots of advice about all things. Our usual stomping ground is Grand Cayman so we are babes in the woods so to speak on this island. If you know GC you know the Cemetery, off Rum Point and Parrots Landing are great for snorking. Any comparables in Barbados? Thanks in advance for giving of your experiences.
