Bar Grub

I was just recently lamenting over a bar I use to go to back when I was living in Chicagoland. Joe Danno owned & operated the finest drinking establishment I ever had the pleasure of living within stumbling distance of, Bucket of Suds. An unassuming, abandoned looking storefront that I paid no attention to for over a year turned out to be the wonderfully surreal bar I've ever been in. A typical night would begin with Joe's title quiry, a selection of his liqueur experiments & if feeling extra brave/drunk, a BOS-burger topped with some of Joe's home made sauces. At some point each night, I was certain I was being secretly filmed by Jim Jarmusch. I know great things don't last forever, but I sure could use some Elixir Lucifer & Snap right now.

I was curious to know if any of these unassuming haunts exist in this neck of the woods and if so anyone care to reveal them along with some nifty stories.
