[Bangkok] Healthy dining at Water Cress, K Village

klyeoh | Dec 31, 2014 08:49 AM

K Village, the upmarket neighbourhood dining and retail precinct catering to the large expat (with significant Japanese presence) community in Sukhumvit, is also the location for Water Cress, an eatery which espouses healthy eating - with an emphasis on organic ingredients, a vegetarian-friendly menu and MSG-free cooking. Our dinner this evening:

- Tempura shitake mushroom stalks: crisp, golden-fried nuggests of mushrooms - great with sweet-spicy Thai chilli dip.

- Sun-dried pork: Isaan-style pork strips which went well with glutinous rice.

- Grilled fermented Thai sausages: small, fat sausages with a soft filling. Sourish tinge from the fermentation. Pretty well done here.

- Green curry chicken with 'roti': the version here is rather bland, although the accompanying wholemeal 'roti' was good.

Relatively guiltless dining, though a bit short on taste, but shouldn't be a surprise, eh?
