Baking by weight with kids

This is probably a silly worry, but just something I was thinking about ... I started this thing about 3 years ago with my two boys (now 9 and 11) - each week, one picks a dinner and one picks a dessert that they make. I help and teach baking and cooking skills along the way. 3 years later, we've slowed our pace, but still keeping up with it. They love it and have become quite the little chefs! Anyway, here's my question ... As an avid Baker myself, I have taught them to bake by weight, not volume, pretty much exclusively. Then I thought, they have never baked by volume! Should I teach them how to measure a cup of flour (spoon the flour in, level it off, etc.)? How to firmly pack a cup of brown sugar? How to read a liquid measuring cup at eye level? Etc, etc! Again, a silly thing to worry about, but I was still curious to hear other opinions
