A friend from work bought me the most delicious apple turnover but will not reveal where he bought it, so I am going to try to describe it in the hopes that some of you out there will recognize it. Clue #1: The bakery is located enroute to work. He lives in Eagle Rock and commutes to Culver City. Clue #2: The turnover was not triangular shaped but oblong. About 8" long, 4" wide and 3/4" thick. Clue #3: Each turnover was in it's own clear plastic bag with a twister. There was a small sheet of wax tissue paper underneath. Clue #4: There was an overpowering taste of ginger in the turnover with lots of dark cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top. Clue #5: Along the top center of the turnover, the pastry had a weaved/criss cross pattern. If this turnover described above sounds familiar, any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
