Mr. Baguette should have a double double

Hershey Bomar | May 1, 200404:10 PM

My girlfriend and I inspired by recent posts trecked out to SGV and tried Mr. Baguette and Ba Le--Our first first banh mi's ever.
We loved, loved, loved the sesame bread at Mr. Baguette. But the ham and chicken fillings were so skimpy you forgot they were there. The sandwich was also dry, as it lacks mayo or amy other dressing. But man that bread was tasty.

Ba Le. We did not like Ba Le. The bread was spongy not crispy like Mr. Baguette's. The fillings were ample but kinda scary. The chicken was full of congealed fat, and some gristle, it tasted old. The barbecue pork was tasty but dry. Really the chicken ruined our appetite.

We'd love to go back to Mr. Baguette, but wouldn't it be great if you could order banh mi American style--twice the meat.

Is there a place with Mr. Baguettes's bread and ample fillings. Yeah, I can buy a loaf and bring it home.
