well, had a friend in town last night and ventured to the barking crab, since the parking is easy and it's an ok waterfront spot to sit at. they had a lobster salad as a special for 16$, so i figured what the heck. the lobster salad itself was ok, i guess, though it had the dreaded addition of celery and onions that does little but detract from the lobster, imo. mayo content was handled ok though, so it was at least passable. my salad, on the other hand, had the single most tasteless tomato i've ever eaten in all my time on this planet (note to whoever buys vegetables at the barking crab: it's still summer time in new england. you don't have to serve these abominations) and the greens were so drowned in balsamic vinegar that they were sodden, soggy and nasty. yuck.
next time i'm down there and feel like dropping cash on lobster, i think i'll just stick to the rolls at hook. soooo much better.
