Bad experience at Persian Grill

We rarely venture out of the city to dine but...yesterday we went with suburban friends to the Persian Grill. One of the reasons we went was to use our $25 discount certificate that we purchased on ebay.

Basically the food was ok. The service was terrible. We had to ask repeatedly for extra pita to go with our apps and water.

We presented our discount certificate and asked for the bill. Thats when things really went downhill. We waited forever for the server to return with the check. When she presented it there was no discount! We finally flagged her down and she went through some blathering about presenting us the original check to review before applying the discount. She disappeared for another 15 minutes. Fed up we put on our coats and headed toward the front.

She handed us another check with a $20 reduction! When we approached the owner he gave us a song and dance about taxes etc etc. Then another employee (I assume member of the family) told us that the certificate was only good Mon - Thurs. We asked them to show us that restriction on the certificate and he couldn't find it. We finally handed them what we thought we owed and left.

Obviously we will not return. Now I am concerned that we will have a problem with every restaurant.com discount certificate. Has anyone else had a problem?
