When I worked in the U-District of Seattle, I often went to Shultzy's Sausages in their tiny, yet jumping location. Now that they're in a bigger spot, and I work farther away, I don't get there as often, but it's still one of my favorite spots on the Ave.
Yesterday, I was there for lunch, which as always was very busy. I began wondering if there was a problem, though, when nearly a half-hour had passed and my order hadn't shown up. When I asked the server, she checked and found that yes, my order had gone missing (the order slip was lost.)
Without a moment's hesitation, both she and the owner apologized sincerely, and said my meal would be on them.
I've been to so many places where something gets screwed up, and there's no offer to make it better, or maybe a free soda at best. Screwups happen in this world, and I wasn't upset about it, but big kudos to the folks at Shultzy's for their response - obviously, they have the right attitude towards taking care of customers.
That's why I'll keep going back there. (And yes, I DID leave a tip anyway - good restaurants deserve good customers.)
