This bums my fiance and I out because we were really rooting for this place (we live around the corner). This was a moderately busy Friday night. The service was poor. Waited a good 15-20 minutes for bread and water after being seated . The bread was stale and the water was never refilled. After pouring the initial taste from our bottle of wine, the waiter left without filling our glasses. The food was poor. We started with the Zucchini e Calamari appetizer and the Arrugola salad. The batter used for the fritti was over salted to say the least. Although a little soggy, the salad was the highlight of the meal. My fiance ordered the risotto special (flavored with saffron and served with a broccoli-fontina gratin), which was utterly bland (our tastebuds might have been useless after the salty fritti). I ordered the Galleto alla Diavola, which was described as "zenzero spice marinated Cornish hens grilled". I guess zenzero is Italian for ginger but what arrived had nothing to do with ginger or grilling. I was served a butterflied Cornish hen with rubbery skin (no sign of grilling or even browning) slathered in dijion mustard and topped with uncooked bread crumbs (very similar in texture to sand). The broccoli and porcini mushrooms served on the side were also over salted. Overall, a very disappointing experience for just over $100 with tip.
