I know there are past postings about Bacar here, but most of them seem a bit dated. I'm thinking of going there
primarily for a Jazz show Saturday, and so, considering having dinner there, as well. I don't mind spending a good bit of cash for an outstanding meal, but I'm wondering if Bacar, food wise, and service wise, is worth it's fairly steep (to me) prices. (I have no problem, say, with Chez Panisse, because I find it to serve at least very good, if not excellent, food, with great service - to give you an idea where I'm coming from).

So, any comments frm anyone who's been there recently, OR,
reccommendations of somewhere else i might consider, w/in
easy walking distance of Bacar? I DO want to hear the jazz and taste the wine, there. I might just go for the
dessert course, there, say, if I elect to go elsewhere for my meal.

thanks, hounds,
