Mr. Swank and I sashayed down Rte 3 to Burlington a few nights ago to a weird little strip mall, home of the Mughuls, an Indian restaurant that we'd heard lots about. We were the only non-Indian family in the place -- a good sign! The service was warm and helpful, if a bit slow. I even got a free glass of wine because they'd run out of my choice.
The menu is large and spans a variety of Indian and Indochine dishes.
I got a delicious garlic fish (catfish) cooked in a spicy tomato curry. So rich, so tender. Amazing. Mr. Swank enjoyed Chicken Chettinad, which is basically chicken cooked in a shaved coconut sauce. He loved it. We also enjoyed garlic naan and an assortment of chutneys, mint being my favorite.
I'd love to go back for the lunch buffet to sample more stuff! It was easily the best Indian food I've tried in the area, and the price was right. FAR cheaper than many of our Arlington/Medford/Somerville haunts, and the service was actually helpful as opposed to distracted/snooty.
