i really really wanted to like this place. being lactose intolerant kind of kills any dessert besides sorbet. so i had my birthday cake ordered from this new dairy/gluten free bakery. it was awful, just everything vegan desserts are typically known for. the icing was goopy and overly sweet. the cake itself was hard and dry and split apart in half on my plate. my dad said the service was pretty clueless. i know they only recently opened, but what is up with a $5 extra charge for having a name written on the cake? is this a common new practice? they are supposedly 'known' for their cupcakes but i'm really not tempted to give them another try.
for vegans or fellow lactose intolerants, i recommend sticking to the baked goods they sell at teany. or i've heard great things about happy happy happy but they didn't start making cakes until fall.
