finally got a chance to go to baby blues bbq on saturday night. my bf and i arrived at around 8pm and the place was crowded but we still managed to snag a table right away. our waitress casey was adorable and super friendly as was one of the owners nick who introduced himself, constantly came around checking on things.
so much to choose from, we decided to share the blue devil platter. we picked blackened shrimp (ok, but kind of dry) bbq chicken (juicy), brisket (didn't look too enticing but it was really tasty) and the best thing on the plate, the baby back ribs, god those things were fabulous and their hot sauce which they titled xxxpornoxxx is kickin. unfortunately, they were out of mac n cheese, so for our sides we opted for, the grilled corn on the cob (sprinkled with cojita cheese, excellent), sweet mash (tasted like warm sweet potato pie, awesome) and creamed spinach (tasty with a hint of nutmeg). the only down notes were that the platter only came with one small piece of corn bread which was moist and light, it did take a long time to get our food and i would skip their desserts. we tried the pecan pie, key lime pie and peach betty, none of which blew our socks off plus the portions are small and not worth $5 each.
all in all, it was a great experience and can't wait to visit again. the service was awesome, we met the other two owners who were manning the grills as we left. next time, more baby backs, gonna try the memphis long bones and the pulled pork. their lunch specials look terific and priced right as well.
