Azteca - Ottawa

mg | Jun 19, 2006 11:56 AM

Went to Azteca for dinner on Friday night with four other people. What a disappointment! We all ordered appetizers and main courses. The mushrooms stuffed with guacamole were pretty decent but just as we started our appetizers, the main courses started to arrive (with apologies) but no offers to take them back to the kitchen. Everything was on the table at the same time. On top of that, the main courses weren't even hot. I had chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. The chicken was bland and the sauce was lukewarm and was solidifying on my plate. In addition, it was very plain tasting. Not spicy as I had been told and no depth or complexity. In addition, a trio of guitar players/singers was roaming the restaurant which is fine for a song or two but not enjoyable when you'd like to be able to talk to your friends over dinner. It was too loud and they were around for too long. Overall, a very unpleasant dining experience.
