Most authentic ethnic restaurants - Chronicle/Reddit

The Chron has been running this feature on its free site; turns out it's a poll of Reddit users.

I've never heard of a few of these. I've never lived any where else than the USA nor visited any foreign country enough to claim to be a judge of authenticity, but 'most authentic' doesn't necessarily mean 'best' I guess.

I prefer Mama Yu over Rice Bowl II for Indonesian and have never been able to understand the raves for RBII. Smaller portions, yes, but much tastier food. Get the Nasi Goreng Java or the Ayam Goreng Mama Yu (Indonesian fried chicken with a spicy shrimp paste dipping sauce).

Yaal Tiffins is great for Sri Lankan, especially the Saturday noon Sri Lankan feast served on a banana leaf. I found their southern Indian fare to be pretty bland.

And I wouldn't agree with Sabor Venezolano as best Venezuelan.
