Australian Homemade

Went to Australian Homemade Ice Cream & Chocolates on Southport yesterday. There were only a couple flavors of ice cream to chose from and about half a dozen sorbets. I had a scoop of the Vanilla with almond & hazelnuts while my boyfriend had the raspberry sorbet.

I found the ice cream to be delicious, very creamy and rich with lots of pieces of nuts which I would describe more as "crispy" than crunchy. It was very soft and I actually saw them remove one of the flavors from the board because it was too soupy to serve. Freezer issues??

The raspberry sorbet was really flavorful and thick - not too icy. I'm not a fan of sorbet, so I can't say how it compares to other places.

I also ordered a couple pieces of the chocolate - dark with infused almond and dark with orange & coconut. Both were very good - more bitter than sweet.

My major complaint...the prices. One scoop of ice cream was $3 and the chocolates were $1.90 a piece!!
There is definitely more attention paid to quality than quantity, however, it's certainly not the place I would head to if I was in the mood for two scoops!
