A charming little tex-mex place opened up where Calabash used to be on Manor Road. I've been there twice, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it both times.

It's different than your typical tex-mex joint because it is tastefully decorated and has sort of a modern feel to it--classier than Nuevo Leon--but not pretentious like Z Tejas. It's very clean and has a nice long bar and outdoor seating.
More importantly, I was very impressed with the food. First, the salsa is very tasty and has a unique roasted garlic flavor to it. Also, the queso was unique and also very tasty.

Last time I ate there, I got the beef enchiladas. They were the best I've had in a long time. The chile con carne was the richest and most flavorful I've had in years. They also have puffy tacos that will knock your socks off (unless you are an anti-taco kinda hound--which, if you want to get technical, is not really a hound at all--more of a Chow-bichon frise or a Chow-pomeranian).

Great margaritas. Great service, too. Austin hounds--check this place out. It deserves your business.
