Austin/San Ant. Review

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions before my recent visit to Austin/San Antonio. As a heads-up to anyone headed down that way, the *best* steak I've ever had in my life came from the Old Coupland Inn off Rt. 95 in Coupland (7 miles from Elgin, 28 n/e of Austin). While you're in that area, big chopped bbq raves for the Southside Market and BBQ on Rt.290E in Elgin. Also, the Clear Springs Cafe, not too far from Gruene (less than an hour from both Austin and San An.) had terrific fried catfish. Unless you just want the experience of being there, the Salt Lick BBQ was just "okay," with some really dry brisket, but good bbq'd turkey.
