On the Texas board I posted our experiences in Austin and heading south to I 10.

Our first night's stop on leaving Texas was Sulpur LA and had dinner at The Boiling Point. It was a mom and pop Cajun restaurant with a seafood buffet. $16.96/head. Mountains of boiled crawish, crafish etoufee, ornmeal crusted deep fried crabs, steamed crabs, deviled crab, steamed shrimp, shrimp etoufee, fried popcorn shrimp, catfish etc etc. Next stop was Breaux Bridge and Cafe Des Amis. Food to die for. OMG the bbq shrimp, crawfish pie, my DH had crawish corn bread topped with broiled catfish and shrimp etoufee. People were coming up and asking what we were eating and one table asked us to order for them.

Next night was Matarie,LA. We went to The Dock on Lake Ponchartain. We had fried shrimp and oyster Po-Boys. The bread was crap so we ate the filling and it was mighty good. Lunch was at The Blowfly in Gulf Shores, fabulous Muffuleta, we ate the other half for lunch the following afternoon. Sunday night was Montgomery, Al. We had to see the season's end of Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy, we picked up take out from a pseudo-fishcamp place, shrimp and grits and settled in with the television.

Now we are on the northwest side of Atlanta. Buford. We had a wonderful meal and service at AquaTerra last night and a bison meal tonight. Tomorrow night will have us in Knoxville and the next day home. I have some wonderful food memories and some good pix but cannot figure out how to include them here.
