Aurum and Havelock Tavern, London

I ate at Aurum (Notting Hill Gate) on Friday evening. I had as starter 'daily dips with pita' houmous, feta and red peppers, tzaziki. The houmous was particularly nice. The tagliatelle with pesto (main)was a bit heavy I should have had (along with my fellow diner)the Greek salad which looked (and apparently was) nice.

I think the desserts at Havelock Tavern (Olympia/Brook Green) pub are often very good. On Sunday evening I had rich chocolate mousse with ginger and shortbread ice cream. Good match- the mousse was as dense as the ice cream. I also had a lentil tomato and coconut soup which was nice but not outstanding.

I will report on 22 Chesterton Road, a restaurant in Cambridge. I am due there tomorrow.
